It was very wet this morning and, as it turns out quite windy, though we didn’t really look at that before we left. Rhys wanted to do an hour so after the rain started to clear I convinced him to come out. Nearly got blown off our bikes at a few spots though due to the varied directions on the ride we got a bit of everything, head, tail and side ! Here’s the data on Sports Tracker, need to upload Hr as usual ! Good to get out after a few slack weeks, need to keep this up or the down one side of the bay and back is going to be tough.

Did some shopping on the way home, nothing exciting just bread, milk, etc. Forgot to pause the GPS though so I’ve knocked off 18 minutes that it showed me being stopped. Next time I’ll remember, or not !

Apple did replace my battery so I should be back to nice long off power usage, and no instant shutdowns ! The funniest thing was the button on my trackpad had stopped working and I was busy blaming the kids and thinking I’d have to get it fixed when I discovered the bulging battery and after pulling that out ( and putting it outside to cool down !) it started working again. They sure do jam everything in pretty tight in there. I’m planning a hard drive upgrade soon, so that will be fun I figure.
Anyway, back to the main topic, my ride ! Same route as with Bronwen the other day, you can check it out on Sportstracker here but a little faster.

Just a casual ride with Bronwen up to the shops at Moonee Ponds, mostly off road on a cycle track. Had to drop off my Macbook Pro battery at the Apple shop as it had started to bulge ! Was also doing instant shutdowns after about 30 - 45 minutes off the charger. I’d already bought a new battery in the States for my sister to bring out when I noticed the bulging so I’ll probably get a freebie from apple and now have two batteries. Will have to decide if I want a spare or will just put it up on eBay and make a small profit. If you’re in Australia and you need a Macbook Pro 17″ battery, let me know !

Rode down past Pilates to a great bike shop that doesn’t sell bikes they just repair them. Was on my brothers mountain bike as it needed a bit of a fiddle with the gears after we’d both had a unsuccessful go at it. They signed up to fix it over night and I walked up to Pilates. Had to walk home afterwards too ! I guess I could have caught the train but it was a nice day so I strolled along the river to the city.

Finally … Out for some exercise, not that I haven’t been doing anything, lots of cycling around every couple of days doing the “jobs”, etc. Plus, Pilates and the odd work, but getting out for a decent ride was great. The weather was cool with a bit of wind and a touch of drizzle. I over dressed, of course, (Unlike Jeff !) actually ditched the booties and a light thermal before heading off, otherwise I would have really cooked. Kept up a nice tempo, only getting a bit too fast on for a couple of sections. Picked up a few leaches on the way, nearly took one out that I didn’t realize was there. I think he got a bit annoyed, but hey, I’m not riding in a bunch so I don’t bother with much signaling, if your on my back wheel you need to watch out …
I’ll try and remember how to insert my SportsTracker info and I’ll add that in.
