Ride to Pilates and Back

Rode down on the Kestrel today as I’ve been having some weird wear / rubbing issues on my left thigh. I figured it might be either my seat bag or the top of the seat post as it seems to stick out a touch. I marked both up with a marker and put on a new pair of knicks to see if I’d get any wear. Didn’t look like I had after I got home but on further inspection there is a bit of rubbing going on. Had a closer look at the position it’s happening as my Marker had appeared to change, and it looks like it’s the seat bag. I’ve moved it for now and I’ll see how I go, but I’m a bit annoyed with myself if that is the cause as I trashed a good pair of castelli winter knicks the other day. Though they had been wearing for some time …

Broke the 100 mark !

Headed out for a longer ride today, wanted to get over 100 and I did. Of course, the way out wasn’t too bad apart from a few showers, but then there was a cross to head wind on the way back, with the last long section along the beach straight into my face. I was crawling along at 20 km/h though I did pass some other guy going way slower ! Finally made it home rather tired ! Check it out on SportsTracker

Long ride - At Last !

Decided on a new plan for getting out for a longer ride, which worked pretty well this morning. Instead of getting up at 5am and then heading out, I got up at 6am, did the morning chores ( even got dinner ready ) and then took the boys down to school, in my riding gear, and left from there. That got me away at 9am, so in theory I could stay out until 3:30pm. Didn’t quite manage that far today, just 3 hours but it was a good ride. At least until I turned around and discovered I had been right in thinking I’d had a tail wind. Thankfully, the route is a pretty big curve so you get a bit of everything each way. I was pretty tired on the way home though.
